About Me

Hello! I'm Ariadna Ampudia, a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism on the print/digital track and a minor in criminal justice in December 2023.

I've served as the assistant news editor for UCF's student publication, NSM Today, and have had three previous journalistic internships within the journalism field.

As an assistant news editor, I edited numerous news articles submitted by a high number of students in the UCF journalism program. I also assisted a duo of news editors in approving story pitches and holding pitch meetings. During my time as an editor, I edited and fact-checked articles, reworked headlines and coached reporters throughout the editing process.

I've interned at the Santiva Chronicle, a local outlet covering news for the Sanibel and Captiva Islands, the Orlando Weekly and WKMG News 6 in Orlando, Fla. I was also a beat reporter for NSM Today, an online student publication at UCF, covering sports clubs.

I had a beat of local citizen boards and government committees at the Chronicle. At the Orlando Weekly, I covered news, entertainment, music and food of the greater Orlando area. During my time at WKMG News 6, I covered crime, traffic reports, music and food, entertainment, culture and arts, gas prices and more.
